Taking photographs for musicians and creators: How I work
Some principles I abide by:
• Before the shoot, I talk to the subject about their creative ideas, expectations, and wardrobe.
• I limit the number of photos per session, typically to two rolls of film (72 images approx.). This helps us focus on quality.
• If the photos might be for promotional use or album art, I'll compose them with plenty of neutral space around the subject. This gives their designer room to add text.
• I'll give the client all the photos we took. I won't withhold my 'outtakes' ... even if it hurts my pride. I trust the client to know which images are right for them.

I'm available for photoshoots in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and elsewhere subject to negotiation.
